This much is certain that there are going to be many models and many brands of AI in the market. In fact, there are already many. It is not monopoly of ChatGPT or Gemini. All these products come with good features as well as risks. Risks wherever they are, are too dangerous. Some months back there was news in India that Google maps lead a vehicle to a partially built bridge and the vehicle tumbled down. I doubt that our Government in India has taken any steps to fix Google’s responsibility. The matter has perhaps been left to the victims. If it can happen in one part of the country or the globe, it can happen elsewhere also. There ought to be global framework to regulate AI. The AI transcends all geo-political boundaries. Regulation is the urgent need of the hour but Governments world over, are busy in fighting wars instead of thinking seriously what lies in store for the entire humanity, and how to use it in a controlled way so that it serves as a common good for everyone. If the world order controls narcotics, nuclear technology, etc., why not AI?
